The Breath Of God

John 12:48 He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him–the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

There are two great realities in our midst, the promised presence of God and the testimony of His eternal Word!

By the “Word of God” I’m not referring only to the book you hold in your hand—leather bond fine pages of black and red ink, or the many digital forms that are at the access of the entire world. By the Word of God, I mean the expression of the mind of God: the mighty, world-filling breath of God! The LOGOS.

Most of the things men and women talk about cannot be counted among the great realities of life. Think about it, just last month people were talking about the complete miracle of the Cubs winning the World Series as a great reality, but her come December that conversation has faded to nothing. Now the Christmas season is upon us, and in a matter of thirty days it too will be but a fading memory.

My point is that far too many people spend their entire lives in the pursuit of those things that only perish and fade away. But when it is all over, they are still going to be faced with the reality of the eternal Word of God, the revelation of Truth which God has given us, and we will answer for!

Friends as you being to celebrate and pursue the earthly validations of this Christmas, think of the changes that would come if humans would suddenly stop, hear the Word of God, and pursue Him! The Breath Of God
